Hi my name is Tim Bolasevich I am from north east conn. I am a self-taught artist and I started drawing after I graduated from high school. Before I started my adventures in fine art I used to paint cars and motorcycle tanks with my brother. Then it wasn't until I graduated from high school that I started drawing. I can still remember the first drawing I did of John Wayne. When I look back at that drawing I can really see the progress that I have made over the years. As for my artistic talent I got most of my art ability from reading and studying a lot of books My favorite books were by Norman Rockwell and Boris Vallejo. They are two totally different artist, but I like both there styles. I started doing black and white portraits in graphite and charcoal pencil. The pencils that I use mostly now are carbon pencil. I really like the look and texture you get with carbon pencils. The medium I tried after that was pastels which I thought were a little messy, but I managed to work though that. Then I tried oil painting little objects and images, but I have to admit that working with oils it seems to be a little easier than pastels. With oils, if you make a mistake its is easier to fix. The first completed oil painting I did was a picture of myself walking on the beach, which I still have. The technique and style that I have is just the way my pictures come out. I didn't have anyone to show me or teach me how to blend pastels or mix oils paints. I just did it the way I thought they should be done. It might not be the right way, but is there really only one right way? All I know is that I really like to draw and paint. Maybe that all that matters.
